Special Events at the

2017 Annual Conference at Portland State University

AAEEBL wants to thank Portland State University (PSU) for welcoming us for our conference this year, and while we're there, we hope you will take advantage of what Portland has to offer.

Things to Do in Portland

Candyce Reynolds from PSU has compiled for us a great list of things to do in Portland.  See it as a webpage or download it as a PDF.  Thank you Candyce!

In addition, this year, we are excited to be offering two special events for the AAEEBL community.

Join us for an early morning kick-start and set your day of learning up for success!  Kelly Driscoll and Tracy Penny Light lead participants in a guided yoga practice on Tuesday and Thursday morning at 6:30am.  Participants will walk or run (depending on preference and enthusiasm) a short distance to a nearby park space to enjoy yoga outdoors.  Come out to enjoy some fresh air, fun and to BREATHE.   All levels welcome – no previous experience necessary.  It is recommended that you bring a yoga mat or towel (although practicing on the grass is also delightful)!  Registration is free but required so we can ensure we have a large enough space.  Register by July 20th.  We look forward to seeing you! Register for Fit & AAEEBL here.

Forktown Food Tour

In case you haven’t heard, Portland is one of the top foodie spots in America! Want to learn more about downtown Portland while sampling some great local cuisine and drinks?  Sign up for a walking food tour with Forktown Tours.  Tours are available in the afternoon on Monday July 24th (ahead of the conference) or Thursday July 27th (after the conference ends).  From their description: Stroll through Portland's vibrant downtown with your local expert tour guide. We will explore some of the best restaurants, food carts, kitchens, and sweet dessert spots that make Portland such an exciting culinary city. We will make 6 stops to eat and drink, exploring a few very popular eateries and checking out some of the city's best kept culinary secrets. Tickets are $89 per person, Registration for this event is handled through Forktown Tours at the following special link for AAEEBL members:
