Southeast US Campus-Based ePortfolio Conference

Empowerment, Enrichment, Engagement: Reframing the "e" in ePortfolio

November 12-13, 2012 Clemson University, Madren Conference Center
Clemson, South Carolina
Co-Sponsored by Clemson University and Virginia Tech

Conference Overview

Creating an eportfolio is a dynamic way for a student to share thoughts and work with faculty, employers, and others.  Through the integration of diverse academic, professional and personal experiences incorporating 21st century technologies, an eportfolio can be transformed into an individualized learning environment.  At this conference we would like to explore the reframing of the "e" in eportfolio: not just in terms of technology, but also in terms of how eportfolio development can empower, enrich and engage our students.

We invite proposal submissions for 50-minute sessions or poster sessions in line with this theme of the reframed
"e."  While the proposal need not specifically address the theme of the conference, preference will be given to those that relate.

Tuesday Afternoon -- FREE -- Event with PebblePad

From Shane Sutherland: "PebblePad enjoyed a very successful few days at AAEEBL 2012 with lots of individuals and organisations expressing strong interest in this award winning Personal Learning System. As a result we agreed that we would support a number of free pilots - after all, who can tell whether the leading system in the UK and Australia will suit the needs of learners and lecturers in North America!

Drawing upon the opportunity to engage with people again at the Clemson ePortfolio Conference we would like to offer a free afternoon workshop for people interested in learning more about PebblePad and for those who are running pilots with the software. The workshop will take place on Tuesday afternoon after the conference has closed.

Participants will be given free accounts on the system and will be whisked through the process of building assets, blogs, portfolios and learning templates. Sharing, publishing and tagging will be discussed and practiced and - most important of all - there will be a running commentary on how various tools and processes are used elsewhere to support learners and learning.

If you would like to join this fun, informative and highly participatory workshop please drop an email to shane@pebblelearning.co.uk
